EXPERIENCE THIS // PepperGreen Estate's Unique Bookable Experiences

Discover the exciting experiences available at PepperGreen Estate's The Tasting Room. They've got the romance covered, good times with mates, special occasions and corporate functions all sorted. Aaaall the options... who knew?!

PepperGreen Estate’s The Tasting Room opened in June 2019 – that’s just 8 short months ago for those playing along at home – and all we can say is wow! It’s like this local favourite has been on the Highlands food and wine scene for-evah!

A super cool concept, The Tasting Room in Berrima is the brainchild of PepperGreen Estate’s owners Hank and Katrina. The stunning vineyards of PepperGreen Estate are actually west of the Hume at Canyonleigh, right next to their 100 acre olive grove.

Wanting to create a space in the centre of a Highlands town, the concept of The Tasting Room was born. This is where the PepperGreen team share their delicious range of wines and their olive oil products – it’s all grown and made locally – and showcase the wines and olive oil through the innovative menu put together by well know Highlands chef, Mark Chance.

“At The Tasting Room, the food matches the wine, not the other way around,” says Mark.

And that’s what makes The Tasting Room different. It’s all about the wine and the olives.

But you know what is super exciting? They are still growing and launching new menus, new experiences and new spaces. Sooooo fabulous to have such an exciting and evolving business that entices visitors to our area but also gives us Highlanders a fab place to catch up with friends and family, support local and celebrate delicious local produce.

Here’s what’s happening at The Tasting Room

The Private Cellar

Tucked away behind the kitchen, walking into the Private Cellar is like walking into a secret club. The walls are lined with hundreds of wine bottles held in place by beautifully elegant dark cabinetry….it’s almost like the dark walls and shelves are the canvas for the stylish PepperGreen bottles. Like an art gallery but with art you can drink – yippee! Our favourite!

And we love that the cabinetry has actually been repurposed from the original cabinetry of PepperGreen antiques, the original store the wine company has been named after.

“In the design, we’ve retained the style of old and modernised it into a beautiful event and experience space, and because it’s so cool in there, we can store our wines there too,” says Katrina.

The private cellar is available for event hire, everything from birthday parties to corporate catch-ups and some fabulous bookable experiences. Check it out….

The Wine and Canapes Experience

Greg Elliott is The Tasting Room’s fabulous sommelier and in between sharing his depth of knowledge about wine, Greg keeps you enthralled during this experience with tasting experiences and fun anecdotes about his life as one of the top sommeliers at Qantas – he helped create and facilitate the Qantas Sommelier in the Sky wine training program for first and business class cabin crew so knows his stuff. If you’re lucky, the wine preferences of certain celebrities may also be shared….shhhhhhh.

This two hour bookable experience activates all the senses with Greg making it fun and super engaging.

It’s an interactive wine appreciation experience with perfectly matched (and yummo!) food.

Perfect for couples wanting to do something special for Valentine’s Day or a group of friends who love good wine, good fun and delicious wine.
