A beautifully landscaped area with a mix of exotic, native and endemic species, seeking to educate the public about plants and biological communities. There is also an all-abilities playground to entertain the youngsters.
The Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens are located on the corner of Kangaloon and Old South Roads, Bowral.
Inspired by the legacy of Louisa Atkinson, a local from the 1800s who was active in collecting and illustrating flora, the gardens will display an array of native and exotic plants. In addition to being a beautiful area to look at, Southern Highlands Botanic Gardens will be a centre for education and awareness.
There is also an all-abilities playground for the community to enjoy from 9AM - 5PM daily. It has slide, swings, interactive equipment, soft fall surface and shade cloth.
